Dedicated to Mindinha.  Villa-Lobos arranged the work for basson & piano in 1958.

The premiere was in 1933 in Rio de Janeiro. Villa-Lobos conducted the Orquestra do Teatro Municipal, and E. Dutro was the bassoonist.This work has become much more popular in the last few years - there are nearly 60 records in the Villa-Lobos Concerts database, in Sept. 2012.
