The first Chamber Suite contains the following movements:

  1. Abertura (Allegro)
  2. Pitoresco (Poco Andantino, quasi animato)
  3. Uma Fuga para Brincar (Allegro)
  4. Pastoral
  5. Dança

Written in Paris, the work is dedicated to Mindinha.

The two late suites for Chamber Orchestra shouldn't be confused with the popular early Suite for Strings.

The final movement is played by the Orquestra Sinfônica de Americana, conducted by Hermes Coelho.

Performances: 

The premiere performance was November 21, 1960, with Joao Souza Lima conducting the Orquestra Sinfonica Brasileira, at the Teatro Municipal, Rio de Janeiro.
