Uirapuru is an orchestral piece with an elaborate program about the mythical Uirapuru bird in the Amazon jungle.  It's dedicated to ballet choreographer Serge Lifar.

Appleby 1988 includes a version for mixed a cappella chorus from 1944 in his catalogue (W448).
